FAQ
Where can I see your movies?
Primitive and Lighthouse Keeper are available in the US on DVD, VOD and Digital. Lizard Boy is available most places DVDs are sold. The Brink is widely available on DVD for sale. You can rent it from Netflix, or stream it from Amazon Prime. Omega Diary is kind of rare. In the US it came out on VHS in 1999 and occasionally pops up on eBay for a couple of bucks. I've been remastering it in my spare time for a new DVD release. The rest of them haven't come out yet.
Can I act in your next movie or work behind the scenes?
Maybe. Keep an eye on our news page and when we're gearing up for production, we'll tell you how to submit.
Will you read my script or logline?
No, we have plenty of our own ideas, scripts and writers we like to work with already, but absolutely keep at it!
Do you work for hire?
I'd be pleased to talk about directing your fully financed movie. Generally I don't shoot, edit or do fx for hire anymore.
Did Benjamin really work for Lionsgate Films, Sony or eOne?
Grindstone Entertainment Group and Lionsgate Home Entertainment released our independent monster movie, PRIMITIVE, in the USA. Sony and eOne acquired our movie, Lighthouse Keeper, for release on DVD.
Did Benjamin really work for SyFy Channel?
In a round about way. I edited the director's cut (first cut) of The Asylum's ALMIGHTY THOR which premiered on SyFy to very respectable numbers and was subsequently released on DVD, Bluray, VOD and PPV.
Did Benjamin really work for Fred Olen Ray?
For a time I worked for Fred and Kim Ray in their DVD distribution business where I contributed to over a dozen releases authoring DVDs, designing animated menus, and shooting and editing bonus features. While there I had the good fortune to do some writing and post-production for a couple of Fred's projects in development, and I edited a feature he produced.
What do you shoot/edit with?
We've shot our movies on a variety of formats over the years always striving for a cinematic quality using tools such as fast prime lenses and color grading techniques in post. We use Mac workstations, edit with Final Cut Pro, use Compressor for transcoding when needed and Magic Bullet Colorista and Looks for grading. We rely on Adobe After Effects and Photoshop a lot for visual fx.
